    Easier to work out mentally. 52 x 3 = 156, add a 0 cos your multiplying by 10’s gives you 1560 which is 104 less than the total. 104 is 2 x 52 so it’s 32

    Think of a circle area as a square where it's easier to associate sizes if you want something 4x the area. It's easier to visualize how much bigger the new square has to be. Assembling four 2x2 sqaures to make a square would make it 4x4

    k² = 4, k¹ = 2 (ratios with the exponent being the number of dimensions). Same with a sphere that has a volume 27 times as big as another one with a radius of 5 cm. The radius is 3*5cm Hypergeometry aside, you can also do this between volumes and and areas. A cube whose faces have an area 25 times greater than the other cube's, then the radius is 5 times greater and its volume will be 125 times greater

    D, 49 The difference between 4 and 9 is 5 The difference between 9 and 16 is 7 The difference between 16 and 25 is 9 The difference between 25 and 36 is 11 so the next number in the pattern would be 13 and 13 + 36 = 49

    In a multiple choice question, you can eliminate all but one with almost no work. 52 ends in 2, 1664 ends in 4 so the last digit in the answer has to end in 2 or 7.

    • @ArchangelMichael94
      @ArchangelMichael94 Годину тому

      Yeah my first instinct was that 52 and 1664 are both even, so it “felt” like the answer would probably be even. I’m faster at multiplying than dividing so I just multiplied 32 and 52 didn’t consider the 7 though

    Would I be wrong if I just looked at the question and assumed by it saying twice as large that it would just be 4?

    • @simperingham
      @simperingham 16 годин тому

      Yes. And it says four times larger.

    • @joshuas193
      @joshuas193 12 годин тому

      the area is 4 times larger. Not sure why you would assume twice as large when asked for 4 times as large. The formula for the area of a circle is Pi*r^2. the area of the smaller circle is ~ 12.5 sq. inches using this formula. 4 times that is 50 so you need a circle with an area around 50 sq. inches. if you square the answers you get a)16, b)36, c)64, d)100. Which of these numbers multiplied by Pi(3.14 roughly) is going to equal around 50? well 16 * 3 =48. all the other numbers will be much larger than 50 so they cannot be that. So the answer is 4. You randomly guessed the right answer, but you did it with the wrong information so that was just shear dumb luck.

    4... a function of the constant pi coupled with the square of the radius. 2 squared is 4, 4 squared is 16.

      @@GrammarHeroalways scan the answers first. In this case, you can get the answer in about 2 seconds by noticing that only one is greater than half. I wouldn't recommend going through the motions of solving exactly when you can quickly get the correct answer and move on.
